Day 1: Juan Santamaria Airport – San José
Welcome at the airport and private transfer. Accommodation in a hotel in downtown San José.
Day 2: San José – Siquirres – Pacuare River B,L,D
Shared transfer from your hotel in a minibus to the Siquirres region.
Embark on an unforgettable adventure, rafting on the Pacuare River. This river has been nominated as one of the best in the world for rafting: lush vegetation, comfortably warm water, and rapids suitable for all levels!

Day 3: Pacuare River B,L,D
Free day in this exceptional environment along the banks of the Pacuare River.
Choice of two activities from Pacuare Canopy Adventure Canyoning, El Tesorito Creek Cabecar Indigenous Hike, Ancient Trail & Hidden Waterfall Hike, Bajo del Tigre & Nairi Awari Reserve Hike, Day Break Activity Tour, and Rural Experience.
Day 4: Pacuare River – Puerto Viejo – Playa Chiquita B
After breakfast, rafting on the Pacuare River. Delivery of your rental 4×4 and departure to the southeast of the country. Drive along the beautiful Reventazon Valley, between sugarcane fields and coffee plantations, then the Caribbean plain towards Limon and the Atlantic coast.
Accommodation for 2 nights in a superb eco-charm hotel near the beach. A tropical environment housing Congo monkeys and green macaws, tastefully decorated in Caribbean style, a true haven of peace and undoubtedly the highlight of your trip!
Day 5: Playa Chiquita B
Exploration of the Caribbean coast towards Puerto Viejo de Limon and Manzanillo: beaches and lush forest. Possible visit to the Kekoldi reserve (Bri-bri Amerindian community) or Cacao Trails (chocolate tour).
Discover Cahuita National Park with its coastal trail lined with coconut trees. Free entry from the village. Wildlife observation: capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, raccoons, etc.
Day 6: Playa Chiquita – Puerto Viejo – La Fortuna B
Drive to La Fortuna de Arenal, a small tourist and agricultural town at the foot of the famous volcano. Accommodation in a superb lodge in the La Fortuna area.
Day 7: Arenal Volcano B
Hike around Arenal Volcano, which dominates the surrounding plains with its 1650 meters. You can easily spot monkeys, coatis, agoutis, toucans, and other colorful birds.
Optional: Walk to La Fortuna Waterfall, which tumbles 60 meters into a basaltic circus covered in vegetation. Hot springs, possibility of dinner on-site.
Day 8: La Fortuna – Bijagua B
Head to Bijagua, where this small village offers a magnificent setting of tropical forest, volcanoes, and the blue waters of the Celeste River.
Settle in for 1 night in a charming eco-lodge surrounded by nature, at the foot of the Tenorio Volcano.
In the afternoon, you can swim in the waters of the Celeste River that runs through the property!
Day 9: Tenorio Volcano & Rio Celeste – Monteverde B
Explore Tenorio Volcano National Park and its astonishing “Rio Celeste,” a beautiful river in Costa Rica with an astonishing blue color that contrasts with the green of the jungle, a unique phenomenon.
You will then head towards the cloud forest of Monteverde, passing by Lake Arenal where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the volcano.After passing the village of Tilaran, you will follow a trail through pastures and coffee plantations that will lead you to the heights of Monteverde.
Day 10: Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve – Hanging Bridges B
Morning dedicated to discovering the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve. An initiative born in 1992 from the determination of the local community.
In the afternoon, take a walk on the hanging bridges above the canopy. The adventurous can do the impressive canopy tour or continue the visit to Selvatura Park including a butterfly garden, a live reptile exhibit, and an insect exhibit.
Day 11: Monteverde – Puntarenas – Isla Chiquita B,L,D
Depart for the Central Pacific Coast to Puntarenas.
Transfer by boat to Isla Chiquita where you will stay in full-board glamping (luxury camping) mode in a superb Tent Suite.
A dream setting, in the middle of the Gulf of Nicoya, on a paradise island, with coconut trees and fine sand!
Day 12: Isla Chiquita B,L,D
Free day to enjoy some relaxation in this exceptional place between sea and jungle, surrounded by beautiful coves!
At nightfall, go kayaking to witness the bioluminescence phenomena visible around Isla Chiquita. A 100% natural experience!
Day 13: Isla Chiquita – Puntarenas – Naranjo B,D
After breakfast, take a boat transfer to Paquera, where you will retrieve your car.
Depart towards Llano Bonito de Naranjo, in a superb lodge surrounded by coffee fields, offering magnificent views of the Poas Volcano and the Irazú Volcano.
Close to local life, focused on agriculture, explore the small town of Naranjo, take a walk in the Chayote Private Reserve, visit a coffee plantation, or discover the craft towns of Sarchi and Zarcero.
Day 14 : Naranjo – Juan Santamaria Airport B
Depending on your return flight time: free morning to explore the region.
Drive to Juan Santamaria Airport.
Return your rental car at the airport for your departure flight.
